EMD Consulting ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, where it is stored, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed, so it is specific about the OpenClaw Gmail application.
EMD Consulting is a consulting firm that helps building automation and mechanical companies implement AI tools. We also publish OpenClaw Gmail, a connector that lets the OpenClaw personal assistant work with a user's Gmail account. Contact: eric.diaz@ediazservices.com.
Our website is a static site. It has no user accounts, no login, and no forms that submit data to us. We do not set tracking cookies and do not run advertising. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time of request) for security and reliability. We do not combine those logs with any other data about you. If you email us, we keep that correspondence for as long as it is needed to respond and to maintain a record of our business relationship.
OpenClaw Gmail uses Google OAuth to request access to the Gmail account you choose to connect. The exact permissions are listed on Google's consent screen before you grant them. The table below explains what each category of access is used for.
| Data accessed | Why the app needs it | What we do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Your Google account email address and basic profile | To identify which mailbox is connected and show it to you in OpenClaw | Stored on your computer only, in the OpenClaw configuration |
| Email messages, threads, attachments, and labels (read) | To search your inbox, summarize messages, and answer questions you ask the assistant | Read on demand when you give an instruction. Not copied to any EMD Consulting server |
| Draft and send email (write) | To create drafts and send messages when you ask the assistant to | Acts only on your explicit instruction. Every sent message appears in your Gmail Sent folder |
| Modify labels, archive, mark read or unread | To organize your mailbox at your direction | Acts only on your explicit instruction and is visible and reversible in Gmail |
Google user data obtained through OpenClaw Gmail is used only to provide the features described in Section 3, on your instruction, for your own use. Specifically, we do not:
Access to Gmail uses Google's OAuth 2.0, so the app never sees your Google password. Tokens are stored on your device using the operating system's file permissions. We recommend full-disk encryption and a locked user account on any machine that runs OpenClaw. If you believe your token has been exposed, revoke access as described in Section 7 and change your Google password.
Our website and OpenClaw Gmail are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes to how OpenClaw Gmail handles Google user data will also be announced on the OpenClaw Gmail page before they take effect.
