OpenClaw Gmail

A personal email assistant that lets an OpenClaw agent work inside your Gmail mailbox, with your permission and under your control.

What the app does

OpenClaw is a personal AI assistant that runs on your own computer. OpenClaw Gmail is the connector that lets that assistant use your Gmail account. Once you sign in with Google and grant access, the assistant can:

Nothing happens on its own. The assistant acts on your instructions, and you can see and undo what it does inside Gmail.

Who it is for

People who run OpenClaw on their own machine and want one assistant that handles email alongside their files, calendar, and browser. It is a single-user tool: each person connects their own mailbox.

Why it needs access to Gmail

To read, search, draft, send, and organize mail, the app asks Google for Gmail permissions. Google shows you exactly which permissions are requested on the consent screen before anything is granted. The app requests only what those four actions need.

Where your data lives

Email content is processed on the computer where OpenClaw runs. Your Google sign-in token is stored on that computer. EMD Consulting does not operate a server that receives, stores, or indexes your email, and does not have access to your mailbox.

If a task you give the assistant involves an AI model, the relevant message text is sent to that model provider to complete the task, under that provider's terms. The privacy policy describes this in full.

How to disconnect

  1. Open your Google Account permissions page.
  2. Select OpenClaw Gmail and choose Remove access.
  3. Delete the stored token from your OpenClaw configuration, or uninstall OpenClaw.

Access ends immediately. No email is retained by EMD Consulting because none was ever sent to us.
